Armenians tend to keep savings in gold – Ameriabank official |

Under the circumstances of economic instability and general financial
uncertainty, Armenians prefer to keep their savings in gold, according
to Ameriabank CJSC development director.
At a news conference in Yerevan, Tigran Jrbashyan commented on
dedollarization tendencies in Q3 2011, mostly sparked by the balanced
monetary management of the Central Bank of Armenia. “However, in
December 2011- January 2012, gold saving tendencies became more
obvious,” the bank’s official noted.

YEREVAN. – The official statistics have publicized Armenia’s 2011 economic activity index.
In line with this, the country’s economic index for 2011 started and finished with 106.1 percent.
In Armenia’s export sector, brandy, electricity, and mining comprise the absolute majority.

to the new procedures, tourists hoping to see the Biblical mountain
will no longer have to apply to Interior Ministry or National
